This outdoor gathering, for those who are not familiar with it, is an annual fundraiser held on the green, green grass of Suzanne and Dave in Mclean since 2002. Guests enjoy an evening of fun and food : home-made Mauritian and non-Mauritian dishes are prepared by volunteers, bingo games and sega music. This year was no exception. There was a fantastic display of grilled vegetables, barbecued chicken made by 3 different volunteer-cooks, Mauritian-style lomein, various salads (green/ pasta / potato), hot dogs and Polish sausages (miam miam with coto-mili et piments bien forts, or not so spicy-hot for some Mauritians...) and other condiments. Dal puris provided by the Nayek family was very much appreciated by everyone, as well as the gateaux-piments chauds-chauds that were fried on the spot. Merci, merci tout dimoune. Thank you all for your faithful support on behalf of the poor students of St. Pierre RCA Primary school, Moka, Mauritius.
Folks had much fun and laughter during bingo games and lucky winners had many prize choices.
